The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Dhaka was established in June 1979, following the establishment of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in 1972. The High Commission is committed to promoting Sri Lanka’s national interests and strengthening its long-standing friendly relations with Bangladesh and Bhutan across various fields, including political, economic, social, cultural, educational, defence, security cooperation, and people-to-people connections. It also provides consular services and assistance to Sri Lankan citizens residing in Bangladesh and Bhutan.
